Citizen input is sought for Highway 5 study

   MnDOT, Carver County, and the City of Victoria will jointly host a public meeting to solicit citizen input on the Trunk Highway 5 Corridor Study. The meeting is from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, at  City Hall, Council Chambers at 7951 Rose Street, Victoria.

   The public is invited to attend and participate in the open house-style public meeting. Citizens are encouraged to provide input to the study team and its consultant. A short, formal presentation will be provided at approximately 6 p.m. at which time the consultant will present the updated purpose and need statement and corridor vision (based on previous input); a feasible corridor footprint with preliminary conceptual layouts, draft social, economic, and environmental screening results (to be further evaluated during the environmental documentation process). 

   Before and after the presentation the project staff and the consultant will be available for one-on-one discussions with interested persons regarding particular concerns or opportunities. The information gathered at this meeting will be used to prepare a draft Corridor Study Report.
