The Victoria City Council and District 112 each approved the joint powers agreement for the Victoria Field House at their respective meetings on Thursday evening, according to Victoria City Manager Steve Sarvi on Friday morning.

The city also has hired a parks and recreation/Field House director. 

Ann Mahnke, assistant public works director at the City of Savage, accepted the City of Victoria's offer and will be the Victoria Parks and Recreation/Field House director.

According to City Administrator Steve Sarvi, Mahnke has had parks and recreation responsibilities as part of her public works position, and comes with strong management experience.

The council unanimously approved Mahnke's appointment at its regular Thursday meeting.

Mahnke begins Jan. 2, 2008.
