Will noise abatement work?

Narcissus Court neighbors as well as other residents living near the city’s water treatment plant want to know what the city has done recently to abate the noise coming from the site. David Dexter, a Narcissus Court resident and informal spokesperson for the neighborhood asked the city for an update.

City Engineer Cara Geheren reported that the equipment has been manufactured and is to be shipped within 10 days with installment in mid-July. She would report online to residents as how long the installation will take.

Dexter pressed her to keep the Web site information fresh, to help residents understand what the city is doing to solve the noise problem. After hearing Geheren’s report, he said he’s hopeful, but apprehensive as to whether the new system will work.
