Do you want to receive tips on container gardening…..visit with the mounted posse…. or see the Arboretum’s latest exhibit - Treeology? Well on Thursday June 26, you will have the opportunity to do all of this and more!  Plus, admission for all County residents will be free. 

With support from Entegris, the Arboretum has invited Carver County to hold a “Carver County Day” to not only allow residents to tour the Arboretum but to learn more about the services and programs being provided by Carver County Departments.  The County Departments will be on hand from 1-8 p.m.

Departments that will be participating include Land and Water Services, Sheriff, K-9 unit, Dispatch, Minnesota Extension, Veterans Service, Carver County Library, Environmental Services, GIS, Taxpayer Services and Historical Society.  Displays will feature the Carver County Comprehensive Plan, Sheriff’s patrol vehicle and the Sheriff’s mounted posse will be on hand. 

Master Gardeners will be on hand throughout the day to answer your questions and will be presenting container gardening at 2pm and 6pm.  4H will offer a hands on activity for youth between 5pm and 7pm. 

 Check out the latest information about County parks and enter to win an annual Carver County park pass.  Residents will also have the opportunity to win a rain barrel from Environmental Services.  The tram will be running at 2pm, 3:30pm and at 6pm and rides will be free.   Beginning at 6:30, the Arboretum will be presenting “Stories of the World Tree” at the Trex deck/Ordway Shelter.  Cookies and lemonade will be provided at 1:30pm and ice cream will be handed out at 3:00pm.   CART ride buses will be offered to Carver County seniors free of charge to the Arboretum.  Seniors should call the CART office, 952-466-5260, to find out times and pick up locations.   

Whether you are interested in a relaxing stroll through the Arboretum on a warm summer evening or finding out more about the services provided by your County, residents are encouraged to attend this event.
