HFCHS YOUTH VOLLEYBALL NIGHT—-Holy Family has its second annual Youth Volleyball Night, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Free admission, complimentary popcorn, and drinks for kids, and event T-shirts for the first 35 youth to arrive. Team banners will be created and displayed for everyone attending during the event.
VICTORIA FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE—The Victoria Fire Department Open House will be Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station No. 1 at 1500 80th Street, Victoria. There will be a shuttle bus from the Field House to the Fire Station and back during those hours.
“YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU”—Holy Family’s drama department presents “You Can’t Take It With You.” All performances are in the school’s multi-purpose room Oct. 11-13, 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 14, 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, adults; $6 students. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of performance or purchased in advance in the school office, beginning Oct. 1
VICTORIA NORDIC HERITAGE CLUB—Those interested in the Nordic Heritage Club may attend upcoming meetings scheduled for Friday, Oct. 26, Friday, Nov. 9, and Friday, Dec. 14. WANTED: OLDER ACTIVE VOLUNTEER WALKERS—The Victoria Senior Commission is conducting an assessment of its trails by older active volunteer walkers for the benefit of older active (senior) walkers. Anyone who enjoys walking will find this fun duty for a good cause. The commission will be looking at length of trail, walking difficulty or ease, the need for amenities, such as benches, and signage ideas for community use. Assessments will be done at your leisure during the months of September and October. You will be given the necessary paperwork to fulfill your mission. Help is needed to encourage more walking by our senior and not-so-senior residents. Happy trails to you! HFCHS OPEN HOUSE—HFCHS will host the first of three open houses on Tuesday, Oct. 9 beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. Open houses allow parents and students to learn more about the curriculum, extra-curricular activities and the environment enhanced by the integration of our faith-based education program. There is no cost to attend, and visitors will experience open facilities, staff interaction, and presentations by students and administration members. HFCHS SPIRIT OF FIRE—Holy Family’s “Spirit of Fire” Dinner Auction is Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the school. This is the schools annual fundraising event. There will be live and silent auction offerings. Entertainment will be provided by the HFCHS Jazz Band and Voices of Fire.
