Colds are annoying...I try

Colds are annoying...I try to gut them out by having lots of Kleenex handy, and Tylenol Sinus medicine, and staying home until the bad sneezies stop...but when it comes to the flu--if and when I get the flu (knock on wood) I put on my fuzzy pajamas, crawl into my dark blanket cave and refuse to meet my public. Alternate between wishing I was dead and wishing that I could stay conscious long enough to watch some daytime TV.

I just got my flu shot last week. My husband doesn't believe in flu shots. I don't know if I do, but better safe than sorry, I like to say.

Ugh. It is too early for

Ugh. It is too early for Christmas decorations in department stores. By the time November gets here, I'm sick of Christmas music, ornaments, the whole deal. When I worked at Dayton's I thought it was funny that on Oct. 31, midnight, all the visual presentation folks stayed up all night to take down the Halloween stuff, and put Christmas up in its place. It was like magic. I thought that was early.

But it goes along with back to school being advertised around July 4. It's madness.

I believe in retail therapy but things have gotten a little manic with Christmas. Everyone. Slow down. Take a breath.

I agree. Carver Park is

I agree. Carver Park is wonderful, and I will include it in my FIVE Things to Love about Victoria. I'm also thinking about including the Victoria Vics...because what could be more fabulous than having your own Town Ball Team, and the Vics are terrific. Manager Mike Poppitz is the greatest.

Hey Victoria! Go out and see the Vics play! Go Vics! Yay!

I think Carver Park Reserve

I think Carver Park Reserve is one of the greatest -- and perhaps underused -- assets in the entire southwest suburban area. Would this qualify?
