Hi Unsie,
I apologize for not writing anything on your blog in awhile. No excuses, just overwhelmed with all of the political events going on before the South Carolina primaries right now. Go by the John McCain bus on my way home, Fred Thompson bus goes by my office, John Edwards messages on my telephone every day, Barack Obama literature in the mail, Ron Paul info hanging from my front door knob. Please stop!

  More later, Morticia

Wow, this is exciting news! What a great thing for city residents. I'm interested to hear what other types of retail could be part of this complex? Drycleaning? another coffee shop? More restaurants including a cozy breakfast/lunch place?

And, what about a city hall/library?

Checkout the online poll. at www.victoriatownsquare.com

City picks grocery store/retail concept

If all is on track, Victoria will have a grocery store by Thanksgiving of this year. And a pharmacy with a driveup window, another gas station, a liquor store, and possibly even a healthcare clinic.

On Thursday, the city council chose the downtown concept proposed by Shingobee, a St. Cloud-based developer and builder. Council voted 3-2 choosing the Shingobee plan. Voting yes--Mayor Mary Hershberger Thun, Kim Roden and Rick Tieden. Voting no--Tim Amundsen and Jim Paulsen.
