Is it Thursday already? Just wanted to check in and report that my neighborhood's National Night Out was a lot of fun. We see each other all the time, coming and going, but never have time to chat. So we gathered at the Jensens, in their driveway, sat on lawn chairs and had our potluck, and caught up on everybody's doings.
Long story short: Anders is getting married in November Up North, the Sharps continue to love their remodeled home, Bill Seaman visited his doctor and saw a profile I'd written last summer about Dr. Kandiko, framed and hanging on the wall in the waiting room; "She's my neighbor," he pointed out to the doctor. We all told Andie that we loved the wildflower garden she planted on the side of the fence facing Pleasant Ave., Kim Seamen and I traded recipes--I admired her Spinach Bars; she liked the Cowboy Caviar; Sue Jensen and I reminded each other we had to do another neighborhood coffee when Kim and Kevin returned from their Alaska cruise. Carolyn Fasching filled me in on the grandkids including the two that live in Victoria (their parents are Matt and Diane Weber); and then Kathy Ottum and I realized that we both know Don the breaded pork tenderloin fanatic who lives on Birch Bluff.
The city was sealcoating our street and so we waved down several public works guys who filled up paper plates, then continued on their way to the next road over.
I would have taken photos, but I was too busy eating. Maybe next year.
