It's the coffee talking
Well, I don't know about you, but the best thing to happen to downtown Victoria would be a grocery store downtown. Would traffic be messier, snarlier, forcing people to (gasp) walk more than a half block in any one direction?

Is there a future for aging rock stars besides bingo on Sunday? Who should hang it up? Who still has the moves?

Reunion tours are all the rage anymore – just ask the artists-formerly-known-as-bands raking in the cash each summer from fans willing to fork it over to relive the glory of days gone by. The Police, The Who, Van Halen, Stone Temple Pilots and New Kids on the Block are just some of the most recent groups to bury the hatchet and climb back into the old tour bus (or several personal tour buses, as the case may be).

Minnesota is arguably as melodious as any state in the union. Over the years, it has produced almost as many great musicians and bands as it has lakes – and the variety is as diverse as the weather.

I just saw a life-size cutout of the cast of the upcoming play "Garage Sale" at the Chanhassen Library. The play is set to be performed May 9-11 at the Chaska Community Theater.

I think I recognized one of the cardboard cast members as Victoria Town Square's own Unsie Zuege.

Band names are like the oft-quoted line from Shakespeare: Some are as sweet as a rose, but some just plain stink. Whether a group’s name aptly represents its image and sound or simply serves as a way to alphabetize their discs in a record store, all bands must come up with one – for better or worse.

Nothing new to report this morning from the World Headquarters of Unsie's mind. But I'm at my home computer, a MAC, and wanted to play around a bit with the Website. I'm wondering if I can upload photos from my IPhoto files.

This is my experiment. Bear with me. Hee hee. You'll see what I mean shortly.

Did you know today is former Beatle George Harrison's birthday? The FM radio station has been playing cuts from his myriad albums all day.

Is it true he died in 2001? Has it been that long? I better look that up on the Web. If it's true, well, all I can say is, where did the time go?

Hi, it's me, your Victoria Town Square Web master in training. I don't know about you but I might have to rent a couple teens who are tech savvy so I can be a semi-competent driver on the wild freeway known as the Internet.

I've been trying to master this online Web newspaper called Victoria Town Square for several months. I tried to ignore it last year, but darn it, it didn't go away, so I've given in. When you think about it, an online newspaper should be the easiest and simplest way ever to communicate with everyone in the community.
